Ibrahim Farouq is a Science Communication and Educational Consultant with over a decade of experience working for international organizations, government agencies, NGOs, and companies, bridging the gap between science and society, promoting STEM education, and engaging youth with climate action. Driven by a vision to empower communities through education, Ibrahim has designed and spearheaded innovative educational programs and international sustainability initiatives that reached millions of diverse populations, from gifted students in the Gulf region to indigenous communities in Cambodia and refugees from 30+ countries.
As the Director of Education and Communications at Baseet UAE, Ibrahim works with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders to develop innovative STEAM programs and capacity-building initiatives for youth, women, and educators. He has led impactful programs like STEM for Refugees and Baseet Wildlife Tour for Indigenous communities in Cambodia, Thailand, and India to support education in crisis. Additionally, Ibrahim has implemented global education and outreach initiatives such as the Climate Education Initiative, youth engagement events at COP27 and COP28, the UAE Innovation Festival, and the National Science Festival in Egypt and China.
In his role as a Secretary-General of the Climate Education Initiative, Ibrahim leads a global movement for climate education. He collaborates with a dedicated network of educational institutions, corporations, and NGOs to deliver impactful programs like Climate Education Week and the Green Mayor Challenge, reaching over 30 countries to inspire a new generation of climate leaders and support those facing educational barriers ensuring a lasting impact on communities worldwide.
